Fashion Experts Are Telling Us to Try These Trends

We still have a few months to go in 2019 and if you’re ready to try some of this year’s hottest trends, now’s your chance. These are the looks to go for, according to fashion directors and buyers at retailers like Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as a few styles you may want to ditch.

  • IN: Beige- "An inescapable sea of beige is coming this season," says Elizabeth von der Goltz,Global Buying Director at Net-a-Porter. But you don’t have to go head-to-toe tan, she says pops of pastel work with the shade too.
  • IN: Top handle bags- Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Director Roopal Patel says this will be the “IT” accessory for 2019.
  • IN: Craftwork- Barneys New York Fashion Director,Marina Larroude says, "Nothing screams summer more than crochet and macramé.”
  • IN: Utility dressing- Think khaki, patch pockets, jumpsuits and cargo pants.
  • IN: Suiting- It’s tailoring with a modern twist.Shannon Schafer, Nordstrom Senior Fashion Director notes, "Don’t be surprised to see short suits and skirt suit options which are also emerging."
  • IN: Leather- Both the real thing and faux leather are in style and you can never go wrong with black, but Schafer suggests “browns, fiery reds, and white will be most fashion forward.”
  • IN: Animal Print -From python to leopard prints, this look is in, according to these fashion experts.

But if you want to avoid being a fashion don’t, the style pros say you may want to stop wearing:

  • Ruffles
  • Oversized jackets
  • Wearing one brand head-to-toe
  • Off the shoulder silhouettes
  • Thigh-high boots
