Fyre Festival Merch Will Be Up For Auction To Help Repay Victims

Only a couple months after two documentaries surrounding the Fyre Festival aired on Netflix and Hulu, Manhattan’s US Attorney’s Office announced they will auction the festival's official merchandise with proceeds going towards the victims that were scammed from the event.

According to Vulture, two boxes worth of authentic Fyre Fest merch, including shirts and pants, will be auctioned to help pay back some $26 million that Billy McFarland owes to people he cheated.

“We have an assortment of the ‘real thing’ Fyre Festival-branded tee-shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hats, wristbands and medallions,” a spokesman for the United States Marshals Service’s Manhattan office said in an email, also writing, “We know that there is tremendous interest in these items in the NY metro area in particular.”

Billy McFarland was sentenced to six years in federal lockup in October for orchestrating the massive festival scam. McFarland’s defense lawyer turned in the boxes of merch after the sentencing.

Information as to when the auction will take place and the exact items for sale has yet to be released.
